How Pinteresting!

What is Pinterest
Well, if you're looking for a simple answer, it's a virtual pinboard.  If you want the truth, it's the most addicting website you will ever find.  It's brain organization.  It's an idea "catch-all".  It's a recipe haven.
It's awesome.
Some friends of RMOO have been so kind to share photo's of "Pin's" that came to life.  We have some VERY creative and talented local ladies around Owensboro!
No theme...just a random post of pictures:

Jessica:  A Giant Growth Chart Ruler

Lauren:  A balloon wreath.  Perfect for Birthday's!!!
Lauren:  She built this bench.  I repeat SHE built this bench.  New business venture?
Lauren:  This pillow for the bench she built.  Too cute for words!
Megan:  A day-of-the-week calenar made from a wall frame!
Misty:  A Valentine Door Wreath
Katie:  A frame (use dry-erase marker to write on) made with rosette flowers.  The flowers were made from her Grandmother's old t-shirts.  This was a gift from Katie's Mom.  So sweet.

Share Your: Elf on the Shelf Ideas!

Okay, here we go.  For the next 3 Friday's, we'll be sharing some ideas and photos on the "Moms in the Big O" blog!  If you didn't make the deadline, send your unique photo to RealMomsofOwensboro@hotmail.com and your photo may be added to this blog post.
Do you have an Elf in your house?
The idea is that the Elf flies back to the North Pole each night to tell Santa how the little boys and girls in your house behaved that day.  If they're naughty, he stays put.  If they're nice, he flies to Santa, then back in time to find a cool hiding spot for the kiddos to find each morning.  He's magic...if you touch him he just may lose those magical powers!
If you're on Pinterest, you have probably seen some unique ideas to come up with as to wear the Elf hides each night.  Below are some of the ideas we've found from Real Mom's.
For safetly, we've decided to omit the owner's of these Elves since the photos are taken inside of homes in the Owensboro area.  If you would like your name next to your idea, just send us an email and we'll be glad to give credit where credit is due!
Snowball Fight!  Bonus points if your Elf tosses snowballs into the bed to wake up your little one's!

Crazy Elf!
Santa Stationary
Toilet Papering the Christmas Tree

Elves like Christmas movies too!

Snow Angels.  This is really cute!
Mischevious little Elf
Gold Fishin' Elf

Swinging on the Chandelier!
Trapeze Elf
These ideas are great and I hope everyone is having fun thinking of new ways to make their kiddos smile each morning!  Here are some additional ideas:

-white powdered doughnuts (snow covered) that the Elf brings for breakfast
-wrap your Christmas tree in toilet paper and allow for Elf to hold the cardboard roll as "evidence"
-place the Elf in the driver's seat with the seatbelt on (move car to an unusual spot too if you can swing it!)
-write a note from Santa using this stationary from Celebrations at Home

Next week we'll be sharing photos of Christmas Trees (on 12/16/11) and then Friday, the 23rd we'll share our kids photos with Santa!  You may start submitting those via email to RealMomsofOwensboro@hotmail.com NOW.  Don't forget, we're always looking for PARTIES to highlight for our "Party On, Monday" series.

Merry CHRISTmas Everyone.  Enjoy your weekend!

Party On, Monday: Army Party

View part on m...jpg in slide show
You can Party on Wednesdays too!
Party On, Monday is BACK!  We have several parties to feature and we're always looking for more to share!
Monica submitted this AWESOME party idea:  An Army Party!  She used Paint on her computer to find these PERFECT invitations:
As you can see, the party took place at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.  She says, "The kids loved running around the pioneer village in the back and we had an obstacle course and search & destroy game(find the hidden water balloons and bust them). Each kid had to sign in to report for duty and grab their dog tags and goody bag filled with Army supplies. We did the activities then the kids got to eat their MRE's(lunchables), Red Army Bullets(BBQ smokies), Melon Bombs(Watermelon balls), Army Rations(Veggie Tray), Swamp Water(Colored Water & Tea), Tank cake, and Camouflage cupcakes."

Way to go Monica!!!

Check out some more pictures:

Monica visited the Army recruiting office on Southtown Blvd. to see if they had any materials they weren'tusing (or that she could borrow). She left with boxes of items to use as party decor and favors.
She also found THE perfect Birthday Banner here: http://www.fun-pinata-party-ideas.com/support-files/army-birthday-banner.pdf !

Talk about making a 6 year old's day!  Awesome creativity and theme Moncia.  Thanks for sharing with us!
